We are very excited to welcome our new Head of Product, JW Kim, to the Givelify Family! JW leads our product team, using data to gain a deep understanding of our members and donors to help create the future of giving on their behalf. As JW puts it:
“There’s a lot of opportunities for innovation if we become curious and leave our biases aside, which is much easier said than done. Making great products is about distilling the product down to the essence or core needs of the user and striving to perfect the details. Great collaboration involves teamwork and challenging each other to make things better. I hope to bring this perspective to Givelify and make a dent in the philanthropy universe.”

An advice and a quote. Managers think about the right way to do things, leaders think about the right things to do. You don’t choose your passion, your passion chooses you – Jeff Bezos.
What would be your go-to karaoke song?
It’s been a while…. La Bamba.
If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
To accurately predict what users would love.
What movie will you never get tired of watching?
Don’t have one, don’t really like rewatching movies. Sports highlights is a different matter. Golden State Warriors, 49ers, SF Giants and Tottenham Hotspur.
What’s in your “Go Bag”?
Phone, ipad and accessories. Eyewear that my friends and I made. Aether ski jacket, in case it gets cold.
Do you have any pets?
Yes a Goldendoodle named Cookie.
What is your favorite candy?
Not a sweets guy, closest thing is Ricola lemon flavor. But my ‘sweet’ indulgence would be the Kombucha I brew.
