We would like to give a very warm welcome to Eric Asato, who is joining the Givelify family as our new UX Designer! He helps ensure that the experience of using our mobile and online giving platform is user-friendly, beautiful, and convenient. According to Eric:
“As a designer, it is my hope that the random bits of information, and all of my experiences – the twists and turns in my professional and academic life – can come together and coalesce into a something (a drawing, a product, an idea) that can solve a problem for someone who truly needs help.”

What music is playing in your car right now?
I never know what music is playing in my car because it is usually my daughters’ music…unless we are on a road trip and my wife and I make our kids listen to our music: Tom Petty, The Beatles, 90s music…If I am by myself: Wilco, Bon Iver, Iron & Wine, Jason Isbell…
Who would you most like to meet and why?
My maternal grandfather. He passed away along time before I was born, but I’d like to know more about where and who I came from.
What TV show do you never miss?
Game of Thrones…There was no TV in 2018.
Best advice anyone has given you?
You are not better than anybody.
What would be your go-to karaoke song?
Something instrumental so I wouldn’t have to sing?
If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
Flight. I’m fascinated by birds. Or the ability to walk into a room full of strangers and not feel nervous and uncomfortable…is that a superpower?
What movie will you never get tired of watching?
I have basic cable, so it’s just one neverending list of movies that I watch over and over again: The Shawshank Redemption, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Footloose, etc. My guilty pleasures: Blue Crush and Harold and Kumar Go to Whitecastle.
What’s in your “Go Bag”?
A book. Chocolate for my wife…For outdoor activities, a knife. I’m an Eagle Scout. It’s just part of being prepared.
Do you have any pets?
I had a wirehair fox terrier – Oscar – but we had to let him go a couple years ago. He was my best friend. I will pet your dogs.
What is your favorite candy?
Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
